A mural arrives as numbered panels sized to your wall. Hang them a quarter inch off and the mountain is in the corner. We plan the layout on paper and on the wall before the first panel is cut.
Custom murals from Rebel Walls, Hovia, Photowall, Milton & King and Spoonflower are printed to your exact wall dimensions plus a small bleed. Scenic chinoiserie panels from Gracie, de Gournay, Schumacher and Cole & Son come as fixed-width panels that must be centered so the design's focal point sits where you want it — over the console, behind the bed, not behind the door.
We measure the wall for the order (including the bleed the printer needs), confirm the panel sequence on delivery, dry-fit the layout with a laser level, and hang in order with the pattern's horizon line set consistently across the whole wall.
Scenic mural, primary bedroomOrdering. Send us the wall's width and height and any obstacles (windows, doors, a sloped ceiling) before you order. Printers size to your numbers; the extra inch of bleed we ask for is what makes the mural trim clean at the corners.
Wall prep. Murals are usually printed on smooth non-woven, which shows every bump. Textured walls get a skim coat; every wall gets a wallcovering primer.
Layout. We mark the first panel's plumb line and the horizon line, then dry-fit two or three panels to confirm the sequence and the overlap the printer specifies.
Hanging. Panels are hung in order, matched at the overlap, and either double-cut or butt-joined depending on the material. Corners are wrapped, not seamed, so the picture flows.
