<p>Ballpark labor runs $7–$10 per square foot for standard non-woven and vinyl papers, $10–$15 for grasscloth and textiles, and $11–$18 for murals and panels, with a $1,000 project minimum. Wallpaper hanging itself doesn't require a Utah contractor license, but drywall repair and skim coating above the small-project threshold does — and SwiftHand Painting holds the S270 drywall, paint and plastering license, so the same company can fix the wall and paper it. We carry liability insurance and will send a certificate on request.</p>

<p>Almost always, yes. Paper over paper traps moisture and telegraphs every old seam. We strip the old paper, wash off the paste, repair the drywall and prime before anything new goes up. If the old paper is bonded to unprimed drywall and would tear the surface, we'll tell you, and we'll skim-coat instead of fighting it.</p>

<p>Yes. Bring paper from anywhere — Spoonflower, Rebel Walls, York, a showroom, your designer. We'll check the roll count and dye lots before we start, and we'll receive and inspect the delivery for you if you'd like.</p>

<p>Our project minimum is $1,000, which covers a powder room or a single accent wall including prep and primer. Smaller jobs are welcome when they're part of a larger booking.</p>

<p>Ballpark $1.5–$3 per square foot, which puts a bathroom at a few hundred dollars and a bedroom at several hundred to a little over a thousand, depending on how many layers, how well the wall was primed, and how much repair the drywall needs afterward. <p>You can, and painters do it every day, but the seams and any bubbles show through, the paper can lift later under the paint, and the next removal becomes far harder. If the paper is tightly bonded with no seams showing, we'll tell you it's a candidate; usually the honest answer is to strip it.</p>

<p>It depends on what the previous installer did. Paper hung over a proper primer strips clean. Paper hung on bare drywall pulls the paper face off with it. We test a corner first, work wet and slow, and repair or skim-coat whatever comes up — that's the part most removal services can't do.</p>
