These homes have thick masonry walls finished in lime or gypsum plaster that can be uneven and sometimes damp near grade, so we check moisture, consolidate any soft plaster, and use a breathable primer and a paste suited to plaster. We also respect original trim and picture rails when laying out the paper.
We do. New townhome walls are usually smooth or lightly textured drywall, which is ideal for wallpaper. We recommend sealing new drywall with a wallcovering primer first so the paper adheres evenly and can be removed cleanly when you move or redecorate.
