For a nursery we usually recommend a non-woven or a vinyl-faced paper: it's scrubbable, it's low-VOC from the good brands (look for GREENGUARD Gold), and hung over a proper primer it strips off in full sheets in five years. Premium peel-and-stick is a reasonable choice on a smooth new-build wall for a single accent wall behind the crib; on textured walls, it isn't.
Scale matters here more than anywhere. Big, simple motifs — clouds, animals, leaves — read from the crib and the doorway. Busy small prints look like static. And a single accent wall behind the crib, with the other three walls painted in a color pulled from the paper, is the most-photographed nursery layout for a reason.
