An installer's guide to Schumacher (F. Schumacher & Co.): how the papers hang, what it costs to have them put up on a northern Utah wall, the patterns people ask for most, and where to buy them.
New York's grande dame of decorative fabric and wallpaper (est. 1889 by Frederic Schumacher): White House and Gilded Age commissions, classic American chintz and chinoiserie (Pyne Hollyhock, Chiang Mai Dragon), Josef Frank archival prints (Citrus Garden), mid-century metallics (Queen of Spain, 1963) and a monthly cadence of new collections with a long roster of designer collaborations.
How you buy it. Schumacher (F. Schumacher & Co.) sells to the trade, so homeowners usually order through an interior designer, a showroom or a retailer that carries the line. We can source it for you as part of a Design Session, or hang rolls you have already bought.
What it costs to buy. Retail roughly $28-$690 per yard/panel. Core printed papers and non-wovens about $90-$160 per yard sold in 9 yd (2 x 4.5 yd) double rolls, i.e.
