SwiftHand Wallpaper & Design is the wallpaper arm of SwiftHand Painting, a family-owned, licensed Utah painting and drywall contractor. We started it because the calls kept coming — and because the people answering them were already the ones prepping the walls.
For years, wallpaper was the thing homeowners asked SwiftHand Painting about at the end of a walk-through: could we hang the powder-room paper they'd already bought, or take down the 1990s border before the repaint. We said yes, learned the trade properly, and found that the part most installers struggle with — fixing the wall first — was the part we already did every day.
Wallpaper is back in a big way, and the best of it is unforgiving: grasscloth, murals, scenic panels, papers that cost more per roll than a gallon of the best paint. It deserves its own company, its own crew and its own name. So here we are.

SwiftHand Painting holds a Utah S270 contractor license (drywall, paint and plastering), which covers the wall repair and skim coating most wallpaper installers can't legally or practically do. Wallpaper hanging itself is exempt from Utah contractor licensing under Utah Admin. Code R156-55a-301(7)(k); the drywall work above the small-project threshold is not, and we're licensed for it. We carry general liability insurance and provide certificates on request.
